Australian polar travel specialist, Active Travel, is offering an international flight saving of A$1000 per person as well as a bonus two night stopover with city tour in either Buenos Aires or Santiago for earlybird bookings on 2016/17 season Antarctic cruises made by December 1, 2015.
Cruises from 10 to 19 nights are available from Ushuaia or Punta Arenas from October 15, 2016, to March 27, 2017, aboard two former scientific research vessels, Akademik Ioffe or Akademik Sergey Vavilov.
One of the many cruises available through Active Travel is a 10-day Antarctic Peninsula Adventure voyage from Ushuaia aboard Akademik Ioffe. The journey will include visits to all the classic landing locations along the Antarctica Peninusla and Gerlache Strait coastline, including Paradise Habour, Neko Harbour and Cuverville Island – known for its breeding colony for thousands of gentoo penguins. Other planned highlights include visits to the scientific base at Verndasky and the historic explorers’ hut, Wordie House. The journey will finish with a day in the South Shetland Islands.
