AVIAREPS, the global leader in tourism representation with 53 offices in 44 countries around the world, has been appointed by the Ecuador Ministry of Tourism to represent and conduct tourism promotional activities in Australia, China and Japan with immediate effect. The appointment was made as part of the Ministry’s strategy to increase visitor numbers by expanding its promotional reach to new markets internationally, coupled with the 2015 Year of Tourist Quality initiative.

The number of international tourist arrivals to Ecuador in 2014 was over 1.5 million people. An increase of 12.3% compared to 2013 visitor figures. Additionally, January 2015 arrival figures recorded an increase of 11% compared to January 2014 arrival figures. The economic impact achieved through tourism in 2014 is estimated by the Ministry at 1,086.5 million U.S. dollars.
In its mission to seek quality tourists the Ministry has implemented various training schemes as part of the 2015 Year of Tourism Quality initiative, including a job skills certifications programme which aims to provide 8,000 classroom training workshops in eleven hospitality skills such as; business administration for lodging and restaurants, operations management, hospitality, and food security among others.
