Egypt passengers safe: Tempo Holidays

Tempo Holidays is in constant touch with its ground operators in Egypt and reports that all its passengers are safe and enjoying their holidays without disruption. 

“We are pleased that our passengers have been unaffected by the current situation in Cairo and other cities, and note that to date there has been no disruption to travel to major tourist sites including Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel where the vast majority of our passengers travel,” Cox & 250x250pxKings corporate director Nigel Loveday said.

“We understand that Nile cruise boats and domestic air services are also running normally.

“We very aware of the current situation and will continue to monitor events constantly though our suppliers and the Australian government.

“It is sad to see these events unfolding as we realise how important tourism is to the Egyptian economy. It is hoped that calm can be restored, and progress made to solve the political situation.”

Tempo Holidays acknowledges that travellers need to make up their own minds as to whether they wish to travel.  Part of this process should be to check the Depart of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) website to factor in official comment.

“Although all services are currently running normally, we understand that some passengers who are about to travel to Egypt may feel anxious,” Mr Loveday said.

“As such, we are making it as easy as possible for clients who are scheduled to travel during July to cancel their arrangements and receive refunds on land services if they wish.  We will review the policy at a later date for arrivals beyond July, as it is too early to assess matters.”

Tempo Holidays has also introduced a Middle East Guarantee for its programs in Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon.

It has been developed to provide travellers with an assurance that should DFAT post an overall ‘Do Not Travel’ advisory on any of these countries – or a similar advisory on a location within these countries which appears on clients’ itineraries – they may cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival and receive a full refund on land and domestic airfares.

“We believe that this proactive guarantee may take the worry out of planning holidays to the Middle East in the future,” Mr Loveday said.
