October 15, 2013 Ski No Comments Email Email

One of the most affordable packages offered to skiers and boarders intending to travel to Japan this winter is five nights for $400 per person including breakfast at elk Lodge at Hakuba.

elkHakubaThis boutique ski lodge is in a prime location in the heart of the Japanese Alps. Hakuba is an alpine village that has become increasingly popular with snow enthusiasts from Australia. The owners of this lodge are Australian, as are a growing number of operators who have acquired hotels and apartments in the Hakuba Valley.

elk Lodge is very close to restaurants that offer both traditional Japanese cuisine (sushi and noodles), family-friendly western-style pizzas and burgers. There’s also numerous apres-ski bars in Echoland (a short walk from the lodge) such as the Cherry Pub, Studio 902 and the rustic Japanese-style Hie.

Its in-house manager Justina has very good knowledge of the 10 ski areas in the picture-postcard Hakuba Valley plus she can coordinate a visit to the world famous wild monkey hot-springs for her guests, organise ski school lessons, snow equipment and clothing hire. Justina will also offer advice on how to survive on $20 a day (breakfast is included with the accommodation), how to reach Hakuba from Tokyo’s Narita Airport by coach, train or Share Taxi, plus any relevant information that helps her guests enjoy a hassle-free Japanese skiing or boarding adventure.
