Shining the light on Vienna with Emirates and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra“Emirates is committed to nurturing our trade partnerships. With the travel trade delivering around 80% of our revenue in Australia, we were delighted to offer our VIP trade partners a special evening with our 80 guests treated to fine food, music and company,” said Tim Harrowell, Emirates Regional Manager, NSW and ACT.

“With a double daily A380 from Sydney and twice-daily flights to Vienna from Dubai, along with Emirates’ recent three-year renewal of its Principal Partnership with the SSO, making it one of the longest running partnerships for the SSO and 2014 marking the 12th anniversary of the collaboration between the two organizations, the Austrian National Tourist Office and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra have both been enduring partnerships that Emirates is dedicated to,” Mr Harrowell concluded.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Emirates and the Austrian National Tourist Office. There was no better night to celebrate the achievements of Mr Ashkenazy with the SSO than the rousing music of the great Austrian, Mahler,” said Rory Jeffes, Managing Director, Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Astrid Mulholland-Licht, Director of the Austrian National Tourist Office added, “Vienna has experienced continuous growth from the Australian market also due to the increased seat capacity provided by Emirates into our capital. We value the opportunity to work closely with Emirates to further grow business into Austria. Vienna is often referred to as the ‘World Capital of Music’ and our partnership with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra provides many wonderful occasions to shine the light on Vienna”.
