“Collingwood was Emirates’ first major sport sponsorship in Australia, bringing together two brands synonymous with quality, leadership and dedication,” added Mr Boutros.

When the partnership commenced, Emirates had one daily flight nationally which flew from Melbourne to Dubai via Singapore. Today, Emirates offers 98 flights per week together with Qantas to Dubai from Australia including three daily services from Melbourne.

Collingwood President Eddie McGuire said the club looked forward to the continuation of its long standing partnership with Emirates.

“The globally renowned Emirates logo has adorned the black and white strip for the past 15 years and we are very pleased that our partnership will continue to go from strength to strength.

“To partner with a world leading brand in Emirates is to partner with excellence and the success of our partnership derives from that common goal to achieve excellence in everything we do.

Emirates is linked to some of the world’s leading sporting events and its sponsorship of Collingwood Football Club is just one way that the airline identifies with the sporting passions of Australians and connects with the local Melbourne community.

In Victoria, other successful Emirates sponsorships include the Victoria Racing Club namely the Emirates Melbourne Cup and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Emirates is also a major partner of two significant international sporting events to be held in Australia over the next 12 months – the ICC Cricket World Cup and the Asian Cup in football.

As one of Emirates’ longest standing partnerships, Emirates is proud to be Premier Partner of the Collingwood Football Club, Australia’s biggest sporting club. The airline wishes the team all the best for upcoming season.
