egtmedia59Emirates has considered putting its A380s through multiple points in Europe rather than just flying to and from Dubai, but has decided against it for fear of wiping out the competition. That’s the word from Emirates president Tim Clark, according to reports of a speech to the Wings Club, a New York aviation association.

Clark said European governments, airports and organisations had asked Emirates to commence international services from their airports – mainly out of frustration at local airlines.http://www.angsana.com/en/ap-thailand-phuket/discover-value/adventure

“If I was to put the A380 through multiple points in Europe, we would clean out the business like a Dyson,” Clark said (referring to the celebrated, British-designed Dyson vacuum cleaner).

“I don’t want to do that.”

He also revealed Emirates is considering buying many new Airbus A350s and Boeing 787s to replace older Boeing 777s the airline will start phasing out from 2017, Airwise.com reported.

Clark denounced as “stuff and nonsense” allegations by US airlines that Gulf carriers were being subsidised by their governments.
