With an increasing number of baby boomers opting to travel later in life, new data from Emirates has revealed the top 10 destinations visited by this group of travellers.

The top destinations include London, Rome, Paris and Dublin, highlighting baby boomers’ love for all things European. On average, baby boomer’s trips spanned 20 days and they travelled twice a year.

“It’s no surprise that baby boomer travellers are continuing to pursue new travel experiences, no matter what age. Europe is a natural fit for this, offering travellers the opportunity to explore some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, immerse themselves in different cultures or go on a new adventure,” said Tim Shepherd, National Accounts Manager, Australia.

“This is why we’ve expanded our European network to destinations such as Zagreb and improved services to hot spots including Madrid. We’re committed to improving connections for all travellers, with 39 destinations in Europe and over 40 A380 destinations around the world,” said Shepherd.

Of baby boomers who are members of Emirates’ loyalty program Skywards, 55% redeemed their points for upgrades.

“While the destination is key, the journey itself can be equally important for many of our customers who opt for the additional comfort and luxury of our premium classes. This is why we’ve improved our onboard amenities, with new First Class suites and Business Class offering which highlights our continued commitment to a superior experience when flying with us,” said Shepherd.

With over 2,500 channels on Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system ice, there’s something to keep the whole family entertained. All passengers can enjoy 20MB complimentary onboard Wi-Fi, gourmet food and wine and generous baggage allowances.

Emirates recently launched its 39th European destination with the addition of Zagreb, Croatia and introduced a third daily Brisbane service earlier this month as part of its continued commitment to improving passenger connectivity.

Emirates is also set to launch a fourth daily service from Sydney to Dubai from 25 March 2018 and will be operated by Emirates’ iconic A380 aircraft. The airline will also upgauge its third daily Melbourne service to an A380 from March 2018, making the route an all A380 service.

Emirates operates 84 flights per week from Australia to its hub in Dubai, with services from Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney, including seven daily A380 flights.
