The New Year brings a new website for the Grand Mercure Nelson Monaco giving potential guests greater accessibility to relevant information. The main motivation behind upgrading the site was to make the site mobile device friendly, said Director of Operations Sharon McGuire, with some 2.9 million mobile devices in New Zealand now, and more than 30% website traffic being generated by mobile devices.
“The modifications immediately bring us in line with the latest technology removing a potential block to finding out about us. But a key benefit to our customers is our ability to create timely special offers and packages and load them quickly.
“At present, for example, we’re offering a Girls’ Weekend, Cycling and Golfing packages – all added value and designed to deliver a fantastic experience, rather than just a bed for the night.
“And with greater ability to monitor search habits and browsing trends we can be more confident of efficiently responding to the markets’ requirements.”
The new site also enables conference, event and wedding enquirers to download information packs as well as provides more information upfront meaning firm quotes can be supplied more quickly, plus customers can now book accommodation directly.
Further developments planned for the site include additional languages (currently fact sheets are in English, German, Mandarin and French) and 360 degree walk-throughs. www.monacoresort.co.nz
