Mid-Autumn Festival, historically on the fifteenth day of the eight lunar month each year, families would get together and make offerings and express gratitude for a successful year of harvesting of crops.  In modern times, Mid-Autumn Festival is still an occasion for outdoor reunions amongst friends and relatives, who gather to eat mooncakes in the light of the moon. The round shape is a symbol of harmony and unity. A notable part of celebrating the holidayis the carrying of brightly lit lanternsand enjoying mooncakes, which are originated from Yuan dynasty, where people use mooncakes to pass on secret messages to each other.

Galley Café & Dining is stirring up a festival twist this year by serving an exclusive Galley Mooncake Tea Set for two,which includes an enticing array of delectable sweet and savoury delicacies. Diners can feast onthree different Galley re-invented mooncakes: rich milk chocolate mooncakes with raspberry, coconut and rice crispy filling, decadent dark chocolate mooncakes with dark, milk and white chocolate and rice crispy filling, and milk chocolate mooncakes with red bean and green tea filling. And to include a traditional tea-set touch, guests will be offered scones with berry jam, chocolate mousse and lemon curd.

Also on the tea set platter are savoury treats of smoked salmon and caviar rolls, mini chicken and beef burger, with cheese and onion tart, Portobello tart and deep fried camembert. The Galley Mooncake Tea Set for Two is priced at HKD328 + 10% service charge from Monday to Friday,and HKD348 + 10% service charge on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 3:00pmto 5:45pm, and is served with tea or coffee. Abottle of beer or glass of Prosecco can be added for an additional HKD35and HKD58, respectively.

For guests who prefer to eat light but cannot resist the temptation of some Mid-Autumn guilty pleasure, Galley Café & Dining offers single dessert Mooncake with tea or coffee for HKD98 + 10% service charge.
