egtmedia59If you’ve ever fancied the life of a flight attendant or other member of cabin crew, being based overseas and working for a prestige international airline, your chance may have arrived.

Etihad Airways has launched a recruitment drive in Australia for cabin crew.

The airline confirmed yesterday it is seeking Australian hospitality professionals to join the airline as cabin crew, food and beverage managers and inflight chefs.

It will hold assessment days in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in mid-December to recruit Australian nationals for the Abu Dhabi-based roles.

Food and beverage managers are onboard culinary experts who oversee all meal preparation in Etihad Airways’ Business Class cabin, the airline explains. Inflight chefs are dedicated to the airline’s First Class cabin and are responsible for overseeing the onboard kitchens and individually preparing First Class meals using a fully stocked larder of fresh ingredients.

To be eligible for these specialist positions candidates must have relevant experience in four- or five-star hotels, fine dining restaurants, cruise liners or banqueting.

Cabin crew, food and beverage managers and inflight chefs receive extensive training, company medical insurance, transport, uniforms and fully furnished company accommodation in the lively and energetic city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

Abu Dhabi is “a modern, cosmopolitan city known for its world-class leisure, sports and entertainment activities”, the airline says.

Etihad Airways has received a multitude of awards since its launch in 2003, reflecting its position as a best-in-class airline, including the prestigious titles of World’s Leading Airline Cabin Crew, World’s Leading Airline, and World’s Leading First Class at the World Travel Awards in 2014.

Do your research before applying and look past the awards Etihad has received and the fully furnished accommodation etc. Remember you will be based in Abu Dhabi, in the Emirates and you will be subject to their laws,Islamic law. Check their conditions etc., and make sure you are able to opt out if you decide things are not right.
