EVA Returns As 2015 Airline Sponsor For Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Aims To Support, Promote Women’s Golf In Taiwan, The U.S.
The Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic is returning to the Bay Area and Lake Merced Golf Club for its 2015 tournament and EVA Air is once again the event’s Official Airline Sponsor. Lydia Ko, 2014 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Champion, and other top female golfers from around the world will compete for the crown in professional rounds scheduled April 23 – 26, 2015.
With the 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA, EVA is marking its 5th consecutive year as the Official Airline Sponsor for the organization’s major annual tournament. The airline is making an extra effort to give this year’s tournament its full support. EVA’s Los Angeles and San Francisco offices invited travel industry and corporate executives to meet and play a round of golf with one of the world’s top female golfers in today’s Pro-Am Tournament. (Wednesday, April 22, 2015). Playing side-by-side and closely observing the techniques of a phenomenal golfer gives each executive a unique opportunity to pick up tips for improving their own game. EVA is also staffing a booth at the tournament to give spectators immediate access to information about its flight frequencies, comfortable services and easy onward connections via Taipei.
EVA has sponsored Swinging Skirts Golf Foundation events every year since 2011. It has also regularly flown the best female players from around the world to Taiwan for competitions and to enjoy the country’s culture and customs. This international support of women in the sport has benefited Taiwan’s female golfers by giving them access to top competitors on their home courses and providing the opportunity to enhance their own performance levels.
“We hope to set an example for other organizations with our sponsorships,” said EVA Air Spokesman KW Nieh. “Our goal is to encourage more companies to support golf as a major sport in Taiwan and North America. We also want to work with these companies to promote other sports in Taiwan.”
EVA encourages players’ efforts to improve their skills and gain experience as participants in other international tournaments. The airline has been regularly sponsoring athletes by providing air tickets for their travel to competitions around the globe since 2008. Through their participation and successes in these international sporting events, the athletes raise Taiwan’s visibility in every country where they compete.
