The American Queen Steamboat Company is offering savings of up to US$1600 per couple on 20 iconic river cruises in 2019 and 2020 aboard two of the biggest and grandest paddlewheel ships ever built – the elegant and richly appointed American Queen and the American Empress.

The celebrated, 436-passenger American Queen is the largest river steamboat ever built. Constructed in 1995 as a fully working, six-deck recreation of a classic, steam paddlewheeler, the American Queen plies the legendary waters of America’s greatest waterway, the mighty Mississippi River – famous for the show tune, ‘Ol’ Man River’, Mark Twain’s tales of Huckleberry Finn, the home of  Elvis and jazz, cotton plantations, Civil War battlefields and periods of slavery.

Meanwhile, the 223-passenger American Empress, built in 2002, is the largest, overnight riverboat west of the Mississippi, offering journeys along the historic Columbia River in the US Pacific Northwest.

Until July 31, 2019, savings of up to US$1600 per couple are available on selected, eight-night river cruise packages on 20 departure dates between November, 2019, and December, 2020. Each package includes a night’s accommodation pre-cruise, a seven-night cruise, guided, hop-on-hop-off shore excursions, beer and wine with dinner and soft drinks, water and specialty coffees throughout the cruise.  The eight-night packages are available from US$1618 per person, twin-share, for a Mississippi cruise aboard American Queen  from New Orleans to Memphis or vice versa, on December 8 or 15, 2019. This fare includes a saving of US$800 per person if booked by July 31, 2019.

Savings of up to US$600 are also available on 18 other departures on both ships between November, 2019, and December, 2020, if booked by July 31, 2019.
