This September, the Seoul MICE Alliance, a partnership between local government and the city’s major business events industry stakeholders, will welcome 28 new members to the fold, creating even more incentives for international event planners to choose Seoul.
The expansion increases the total SMA membership to 195. Established in 2011, the Seoul MICE Alliance is made up of local businesses that service the city’s largest international events. These include convention centers, business hotels, unique venues, PCOs, destination management companies, transportation services, business events service providers, entertainment agencies, shopping outlets, and local associations. A full directory of current SMA members is available here.
International event planners who utilize SMA member companies receive additional benefits such as reduced rates, complimentary use of event spaces, free-of-charge promotional space, discounts on event registration, pick-up and drop-off services, and support for site inspections.
Formed to enhance the city’s global competitiveness, the Seoul MICE Alliance is operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Convention Bureau, with the joint aim of better promoting Seoul’s meetings infrastructure and advantages to buyers around the world. Participating members receive support for taking part in overseas meetings industry events while working closely with the city of Seoul to carry out international marketing activities.
The new members will be officially announced at the 2015 Seoul MICE Alliance Annual Meeting on September 10.
