With interest in travel by private jet soaring, Abercrombie & Kent is planning ahead for 2017 and featuring destinations that are sure to end up on next year’s Where to Go Next lists.
For the ultimate ‘off the beaten’ track experience, A&K’s latest itinerary, ‘Around the World by Private Jet: The Tropics to the Arctic’ explores destinations not yet on the radar of most travellers, from the Solomon Islands to the Philippines and Uzbekistan.
“Travelling around the world requires crossing many time zones, but we slow down the pace to provide more leisure time to fully enjoy each destination,” explains Abercrombie & Kent Founder, CEO and Chairman Geoffrey Kent. “We also include opportunities to dine at top local restaurants and offer a choice of ‘Design Your Day’ activities to personalize the trip.”
This nearly month-long journey designed by Kent begins with eye-opening visits to Colombia and Easter Island. Travellers will then experience the cultural and natural treasures of French Polynesia and the Solomon Islands before continuing on to the Philippines, one of the best places on earth to swim with whale sharks. The journey then takes guests to way the Mongolian steppes where they can experience a way of life which has changed little since the days of Genghis Khan, before exploring two iconic cities built by great conquerors, Samarkand (Tamerlane) and St. Petersburg (Peter the Great). The adventure ends in Iceland, home to stunning natural wonders.
Travel is aboard an exclusively chartered private jet equipped with 50 fully lie-flat, first-class seats, and the journey is led by a Tour Director chosen from the ranks of A&K’s international coterie of professionals, who will orchestrate everything from start to finish.
The small group size of no more than 50 guests allows for privileged access and invitation-only events such as a street market experience in Cartagena; a special presentation of the Naadam Games, Mongolia’s traditional contests of archery, wrestling and horsemanship; and a private bridal ceremony in the Solomon Islands – all arranged exclusively for A&K guests. Meals are also more than just a chance to dine at the end of the day, with unforgettable experiences ranging from a private dinner at Yusupov Palace to a feast of roasted pig with Solomon Islands villagers.
Accommodation is always the best available, selected to reflect each destination’s spirit and style and includes historic hotels, lavish resorts or eco-friendly lodges. And with a stay of three nights in most destinations, there is time to relax and appreciate the pristine beauty of the surroundings.
A&K’s ‘Around the World by Private Jet: The Tropics to the Arctic’ departs 1 – 26 May 2017, visiting Fort Lauderdale, Cartagena & Bogota in Colombia, Easter Island, Rangiroa in French Polynesia, Honiara in the Solomon Islands, Cebu in the Philippines, Mongolia’s Gobi Desert, Samarkand in Uzbekistan, St. Petersburg, Russia, Reykjavik, Iceland and New York.
