Experience Co. To Dominate the Australian Tourism Exchange 2018

Australia’s leading adventure tourism company, Experience Co. (EXP), will participate at this month’s Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2018, (15-19 April) at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

For the first time, EXP will present itself as the parent company of: Raging Thunder, Skydive Australia, Cairns Hot Air Balloon Co., Cairns Canyoning, Fitzroy Island Adventures, Reef Magic, GBR Helicopters, Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises and Tropical Journeys (Calypso).

Since listing on the ASX in March 2015, EXP has completed capital raises to the value of $165m, expanded its geographical footprint into New Zealand and carried out eight quality mergers and acquisitions which were predominantly in Far-North Queensland. The company will have six stalls, one for each of its Queensland-based companies, standing side by side in the QLD section.

These will showcase EXP’s world-class range of experiences, which include tandem skydiving, white- water rafting, canyoning, tropical island tours, Daintree 4WD tours, boat and helicopter tours to the Great Barrier Reef, and hot air ballooning across North Queensland, Byron Bay and the Hunter Valley.

“Our significant presence at The Australian Tourism Exchange signals a huge milestone on our journey to becoming the world’s biggest and best adventure tourism business,” said EXP CEO Anthony Ritter.

In addition to exhibiting each company’s portfolio of offerings, Mr Ritter, will elaborate on a number of key announcements including:

The launch of one-stop-shop travel experience package, Xpass

  • Xpass brings together EXP’s eight Australian based operators: Raging Thunder, SkydiveAustralia, Cairns Hot Air Balloon Co., Cairns Canyoning, Fitzroy Island Adventures, Reef Magic Cruises, GBR Helicopters, Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises and Tropical Journeys (Calypso). Giving customers access to an unprecedented range of activities across 24 locations nationwide.
  • The launch of hybrid snorkel scuba product, SNUBA®
    SNUBA® is a shallow water recreational diving system aimed at anyone that would like to go beyond snorkelling but is looking for an alternative to scuba diving. At their own pace, while under the supervision of your certified SNUBA® guide, users can explore to a depth of 3 metres.
    There’s no heavy equipment and the device’s air tanks are held in a specialty raft that floats

    on the surface. The SNUBA® is currently available on Reef Magic Cruises outer Great Barrier Reef pontoon, and at Green Island and Fitzroy Island.

    • Seatrek Helmet product launch in Marine World
      The Seatrek Helmet allows guest to have a dive-style experience without the bulky equipment, mask, regulator or heavy tanks. All that’s needed is the helmet, which sits comfortably on the wearer’s shoulders, and a weight belt to help them stay submerged.
      Seatrek helmet diving is conducted to a depth of 3 metres and is available to anyone 12 years or older. Air flows constantly into the helmet and a trained guide supervises the session.
    • The opening of the new Experience Co. Adventure Hub at Dunk Island
      Following a successful 20-year tender, EXP will open the doors to its eco-friendly Experience Co. Adventure Hub in late 2018.
      EXP will also assist in the promotion of the region’s rich Aboriginal culture and intends to launch a reef education program. The Hub is expected to generate 60 jobs through the construction and ongoing operational phases.

We look forward to sharing all of the exciting initiatives and expansion plans in the pipeline,” said Mr Ritter.
