Each year, the tranquil hill station of Kandy comes alive with the Esala Perahera Festival. To help give visitors a glimpse into the exceptional extravaganza, OZO Kandy is offering a special package for the occasion.

One of the oldest and grandest Buddhist festivals in the world, the Esala Perahera is a series of evening parades bursting with performances from brave fire and whip dancers, to traditional Kandyan dances. A highlight of the celebration is a display of over 50 tuskers and elephants, all blinged out with colourful garments and decorations, brilliantly shining in sync with the lights illuminating the city.

Just a skip down the road from the Sri Dalada Malidwara, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where the processions will take place, OZO Kandy will give guests front-row seats to all the action. After enjoying the festivities, hotel guests are guaranteed to enjoy a good night’s sleep at the hotel’s “Snooze Zone”, where they can snuggle into the plush beds with super soft pillow top mattresses and wake up filled with energy to jumpstart the day of exploration.

OZO Kandy is offering a special Esala Perahera Package starting from 794 USD ++ for two to enjoy a three-night stay in a “Sleep” room. The package includes breakfast, two Esala Perahera festival tickets valued at 80 USD per person and a half-day city tour where guests can also take in the beautiful sights of the hill city during the day. This package is valid during the festival for stays from 20 to 30 August 2015.
