Caroline Blanchfield has been appointed Group Marketing Manager of GCH Aviation Group.Based at GCH Aviation’s new centre at Christchurch Airport, Caroline will oversee marketing of the group’s scenic and commercial aviation services across New Zealand and the Pacific.

GCH Aviation Group Chief Executive, Andrew Currie says he is delighted to welcome Caroline to the team. “We are privileged to have Caroline join us. Her extensive tourism and marketing experience and her connections throughout the industry will serve our diverse and growing business well. She is an icon of our tourism industry locally and nationally,” he says.

Prior to joining GCH Aviation, Caroline was Destination Manager at ChristchurchNZ. She managed the convention bureau, industry partnerships and cruise sectors for the regional tourism organisation for eight years.

“GCH Aviation is a real Christchurch success story, and I am excited to take on new challenges and opportunities in the aviation market place, including the new corporate jet centre and unmanned aerial vehicle markets,” Caroline says.

GCH Aviation’s $23 million base in Christchurch, opened in April 2018, is a 9,000 sqm facility with direct Christchurch Airport runway access and dedicated helipads. It includes Christchurch’s first full-service jet centre for the South Island’s rapidly growing corporate aviation market with hangar parking and overnight facilities for jets, a private terminal, ground handling, catering, plus Ministry of Primary Industry and Customs services.

With other bases in Nelson, Greymouth, Wellington, Vanuatu and Fiji, GCH Aviation has over 120 staff, 33 aircraft and 35 years of helicopter and fixed wing aircraft services including tourism flights and certified flight training, air rescue and ambulance operations.

GCH Aviation is the only company to hold the prestigious Helicopter Association of New Zealand Diamond Safety Award. It also holds a Qualmark Gold endorsement and an Excellence Certificate on TripAdvisor, validating it as a high-quality tourism business.

Caroline begins her new role on 12 November.
