CHILEAN eco-adventure operator explora, whose popular Hotel Salto in the Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia has been operating for 20 years, has joined forces with Cruceros Australis to combine cruising through the Strait of Magellan and the Beagle Channel with explora’s land activities.

Explora CEO, Jesus Parrilla said the nine-day itineraries had been created by combining the two company’s itineraries to create travel packages designed to showcase the best of both the Chilean and Argentine sides of Patagonia and to help travellers maximise their time in the region.

He added, “Over the years we have realised that a significant number of travellers visiting South America, including tour operators and travel agencies, saw explora and Cruceros Australis as a perfect combination offering unique landscapes, operational excellence and an extraordinary travel experience”.

The programs can start in either Chile or Argentina and include four nights at explora’s lodge to explore by foot or by horseback the peaks, glaciers, lakes and rich flora and fauna of Torres del Paine National Park and four nights aboard either the Via Australis or Stella Australis to sail past Cape Horn, Wulaia and Ainsworth bays and Tucker Magdalena Island.
