Explore Cambodia For Childfund’s Water Challenge

April 2, 2014 Responsible Tourism No Comments Email Email

For an adventure with meaning, join the Cambodia Water Challenge from 29 October – 9 November 2014, a cycling and trekking expedition through Cambodia, created by Inspired Adventures and ChildFund Australia.

ChildFund VietnamBy joining this expedition, you’ll help provide five local primary schools with safe drinking water, toilets and hand-washing facilities. The reality is that poor sanitation and unsafe drinking water are causing diseases like typhoid, hepatitis and diarrhoea, potentially fatal for vulnerable young children.

Begin at the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom and wander through the mysterious jungle shrouded Ta Prohm. Cycle to the world-famous temples of Angkor, the Dom Dek markets, and head off the tourist trail to the rustic towns of rural Cambodia.

Trek through rice paddy fields and sugar palms, remote villages, dense forest and alongside dazzling waterfalls to the River of 1000 Lingas. Immerse yourself in the unique culture and the lives of the local communities.

Through money raised from the Cambodia Water Challenge, primary schools will have separate toilets for girls and boys, to offer young girls privacy and safety, encouraging them to continue their education.

On this holiday with a difference, you’ll visit the schools and see first-hand the project you helped support, and meet the amazing children your generosity has positively affected.
