In April 2019, Ecruising are inviting travellers to tour sun-drenched Northern Africa and Southern Europe.
Included in the 21-night itinerary, guests will embark on an escorted 8-night land tour from Casablanca to Marrakech. From Marrakech, guests will then make their way to Lisbon where they’ll board Silversea’s Silver Spirit where they’ll set sail on a 10-night cruise to Barcleona.
Each carefully curated destination delivers some truly unique experiences including camel back riding in the Sahara desert and capturing picturesque views of the sunrise over Marrakech via a hot air balloon.
Arriving in Casablanca on 6th April, guests will travel to Rabat where they’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and 1 nights accommodation at the enchanting, Riad Zyo Hotel.
Waking up in Rabat, travellers will explore the capital city’s monuments in the morning before driving to Fes for a 2-night stay at the Riad Myra Guest House. Once in Fes, guests can take part in a guided tour of Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, as well as the historical monuments and artisan quarters.
On the 9th April, travellers will make a grand entrance on camel back in the Sahara desert. Here, guests will be escorted to their Saharan camp, which includes dinner, a campfire that sets the perfect scene for unlimited stargazing.
Continuing on in Morocco, travellers will be treated to the spectacular natural wonders, the Todra and Dades Gorges. Following a day of exploring, guests will then check into Hotel Dnar Jnan Tiouira for dinner and a 1-night stay.
On 11th April, guests will arrive in the colourful of Marrakech where they’ll stay 3 nights at La Maison Arabe. The first day in Marrakech consists of lunch overlooking the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou and a drive through the Tizi’n Tichka Peak. On the second day, guests will be take part in a guided tour of historical sites such as Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque and Saadian tombs and religious places such as the madrassas. Included also is a tagine cooking class where travellers learn how to make this quintessential Morocco dish.
With one full day left in Marrakech, early risers can indulge in an optional sunrise, Hot Air Balloon Ride that delivers unforgettable full views of Marrakech as the city awakes. As the day continues, travellers will visit the lavish and picturesque souk with free time to explore and shop in the medina.
Departing for Southern Europe, the final day on the guided land tour involves a one-way flight from Marrakech to Lisbon where guests will stay one night at InterContinental Lisbon before boarding the Silver Spirit.
Setting sail for Barcelona, the Silver Spirit will cruise the Atlantic Ocean, entering the Mediterranean Sea with stop offs in the sunny cities of Spain including Cadiz, Malaga and Porto Mahon.
The cruise then sails towards the ports of Italy such as Alghero and Livorno before reaching the opulent city of Monte Carlo, Monaco then Marseille in France before finishing in Barcelona, Spain. In the final destination, Barcelona, travellers will be treated to a guided tour of the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell to soak in the Gaudi architecture.
