Extravagate High Five Taiwan

A secret wonderland-like booth MEET TAIWAN/MICE Kaohsiung ready to be extravagated by a full range of amazing encounters of what Taiwan has to offer kick-starts its first large-scale High Five Taiwan Online to offline (O2O) interactive campaign at its first stop the 2016 IT&CM China (IT&CMC) from April 6– April 8, 2016, Shanghai to declare the world a welcoming and compassionate Taiwan to corporate meetings buyers.

This year’s Taiwan booth at IT&CMC was decorated with blue ocean patterns, circular waves, and sea-going vessels, highlighting one of Taiwan’s most prosperous MICE capitals—Kaohsiung. The Taiwan booth featured a full visitor experience with shows, food tastings, and a high five welcome hand display, not to mention lots of information about Taiwan’s exceptional meeting venues and related services.

A large touch-screen welcome hand display proved especially eye catching. Throughout the High Five O2O campaign, the high five hand display also served as a passion and temperature gauge. Participants were encouraged to share their temperatures and passion levels on Facebook after using the novelty high five display set at the front of the booth. Depending on how passionate each high five was gauged, the display showed a suggested activity to match, based on Taiwan’s unique offerings in culture, food, traditional arts, scenic views, art galleries, and creative parks.

For the two day event, the display contributed to 100+ foot-traffic, indicating participants’ strong attraction to the campaign. Prior to the event, there were already 179 pre-scheduled appointments showing attendees’ high interests in Taiwan as a MICE destination. Ms. Jin, a marketing manager from WRVENET, stated she has always had a good impression about Taiwan, would like to host another corporate conference there, and also mentioned she was most impressed with the food and people.

Taiwan has become an ideal and popular destination for international meetings due to its qualified venues and services. A contributing factor is that MEET TAIWAN is strongly committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR). This year’s High Five O2O campaign is a prime example of that commitment, as MEET TAIWAN connected CSR through the first and second part of the IT&CMC exhibitions. Through the High Five campaign, the collected temperatures were shared and shown on Facebook. Combined with the numbers also collected as passion levels, MEET TAIWAN purchased the equivalent amount in gift items from World Vision Design to be lucky draw prizes at the next IT&CMC and CIBTM exhibitions. The High Five campaign is designed as a simple but meaningful O2O interactive activity that serves to return some love and warmth to the world.
