This AAA Five Diamond resort transforms into a winter wonderland in the desert during its annual Christmas at the Princess festival, November 22, 2016January 1, 2017, glistening with a four-story musical tree, Desert Ice Rink, Princess Express Trains, Lagoon Lights, plus new holiday characters, shows and attractions including Santa’s Secret Headquarters.

New holiday friends checking-in are the lovely Princess Angelica, a huggable yeti named Shivers and the squishable Graham, a walking s’more. All will join the resort’s other Christmas characters: Peppermint Penguin, Selfie Elfie and Princess Noel, each bringing their own special charm from the North Pole.

At the Desert Ice Rink, made with real ice, skaters experience magical snowfalls, while luxury rink-side fire pit tables are the coziest spot to enjoy all the merriment under a starry Scottsdale sky. Another icy element is the new Polar Glide slide, surrounded by campfires in S’mores Land. Other rides include a carousel and new Ferris wheel.

At Lagoon Lights, 3 million LEDs illuminate majestic scenes of graceful swans, a pirate ship, mermaid, whale, singing snowman family, candy cane forest and an infinity tunnel capable of 256 million color combinations.


In Enchanted Plaza, holiday must-sees are the 40-foot musical tree playing 17 songs synchronized to 70,000 twinkling lights and an all-new, high-definition video of “The Night Before Christmas” projected on the resort’s façade. Santa is excited about his all-new workshop – Santa’s Secret Headquarters – mapping his flight plans, time zones and toys, where families can have their photo taken.

Memorable dining experiences range from Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak to Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar and La Hacienda byRichard Sandoval. For pampering, Well & Being Spa offers a Sugar ‘n’ Spice Aromatherapy Blending Bar, mistle-toe pedicures and peppermint manicures.

The Christmas at the Princess festival is open to the public. Entrance is complimentary for hotel guests who receive VIP access to the attractions.
