No matter what you decide, however, be sure to make advance reservations. Valentine’s Day is a popular time for dining out, and Valentine’s Day seatings are sure to be a full house.

Café at Shields Date Garden
Looking for an iconic oasis experience? How about taking your date to a date garden? The Café at Shields Date Garden is serving up an a la carte meal that includes Shields’ famous stuffed dates, which are prepared with bleu cheese crumbles, jalapeño and prosciutto, then wrapped in bacon and topped with drizzled balsamic and demi-glace.

Grove Artisan Kitchen, Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa
Local specialties abound on the Valentine’s Day Menu at Grove Artisan Kitchen, located at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa. But you won’t want to miss Chef Paul Hancock’s uniquely local treat, the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp made with Kadota figs and date ice cream.

Mr. Parker’s, The Parker Palm Springs
The romantic menu at Mr. Parker’s is full of lavish delicacies, like pan seared filet and foie gras with dried chili mole. And the menu has been designed to highlight items that are natural aphrodisiacs, in case you need a little culinary jump start.

Peak’s Restaurant, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
Sure, Greater Palm Springs is set in the midst of California’s desert region, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a romantic meal in an alpine forest. Take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to Peak’s Restaurant, where you can enjoy a three-course, prix fixe menu.

Wally’s Desert Turtle
In Rancho Mirage, Wally’s Desert Turtle has been a desert icon for nearly 40 years. Founded by Wally Botello, who was also the founder of the acclaimed Velvet Turtle restaurant group, Wally’s is serving up a romantic three-course dinner with such offerings as bay shrimp salad, wild mushroom soup and Superior Farms roasted lamb.

Spa Treatments

To treat your sweetie to an extra romantic evening, indulge in a lavish spa treatment for two. Among the Valentine’s Day offerings:

Ace Hotel
The Feel Good Spa at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs is offering massage lessons for Valentine’s Day. The 90-minute program includes a glass of champagne and will teach you professional techniques that you can use over and over again.

Hyatt Regency Indian Wells (Indian Wells)
Express your creativity with a body painting class at Agua Serena Spa at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. You’ll work with an instructor who demonstrates popular designs to help get you started. Use local mud to color your partner’s arms, legs and hands or give them a temporary tattoo with your name on it.

Miracle Springs Resort (Desert Hot Springs)
Enjoy a total romance immersion at the Miracle Springs Resort with a spa getaway for two. Stay in a Miracle Springs’ suite and spend the day soaking in the resort’s natural hot spring pools. A one-hour couples massage at The Spa is also included, as is a dinner for two at the landmark Capri restaurant, which features a special Valentine’s Day menu for the evening.
