egtmedia59What to name a baby born on a Jetstar flight? The answer is obvious: Jet Star.

A baby born aboard Jetstar Asia flight 3K583 after it landed in the Myanmar capital, Yangon, has been named after the airline. The name of the child is Saw Jet Star.

Baby Jet Star was born after the plane touched down following a flight from Singapore, the Singapore Straits Times reported.

The airlines said the baby boy, who weighed about 3kg, was the first child ever to be delivered aboard one of its planes.

Jetstar added that the first part of the baby’s name, Saw, derived from the carrier’s customer service manager, Saw Ler Htu, who helped the mother with the delivery.

“Star” is also part of the mother’s name, which is quite a coincidence. “Jet” comes straight from Jetstar.

Mother and son are in good health and Jetstar has offered about AUD 1000 worth of baby supplies to the family to congratulate them.
