Fast Cover travel insurance^ has sourced over 500 articles on travel tips and advice to create an infographic on the hacks Australians can adopt that could simplify travel and save money in 2016.
The hundreds of travel articles collected were analysed to identify the tips and tricks most widely shared online. The articles that were found to be the most popular were then examined to put together a list of their favourite travel hacks that make travelling simpler at each step.
“We found that some of the most popular tips for travelling now involve using tech to make travelling easier,” said Mr Dean Van Es, the CEO of Fast Cover. “Apps and gadgets have had a huge impact on the way people travel. Whether you’re booking accommodation, trying to find transport or looking for a place to eat, there’s an app to help you do it.”
Tips on saving money while travelling were also highly popular. “Many people don’t know they can save with a few simple actions such as suspending gym memberships and TV subscriptions while travelling,” Mr Van Es said.
Fast Cover’s infographic provides a selection of travel tips relevant for 2016. “We are always looking to provide travellers with the most up-to-date travel information” said Dean. “Fast Cover’s infographic provides tips that help people simplify travelling from the beginning to the end of their holiday.”
The infographic looks at five stages in every trip: booking, preparing, transit, getting around at your destination and finally returning home.
Some of the hacks include clearing your cookies before booking flights to save cash, suspending regular payments and downloading apps which provide maps offline.
The travel hacks infographic comes after a number of developments from Fast Cover to make purchasing travel insurance faster and simpler. Recently Fast Cover launched their mobile-responsive website. Travellers looking to purchase insurance will have the same experience and functionality of the website whether they are on their PC, tablet or phone.
Fast Cover has also released four new product features designed to fulfil the niche needs of different Australian travellers. This includes a Medical Only plan*, an Adventure Pack*, an expanded snow cover package* and automatic cover for pregnancy up to and including the 23rd week**.
