FCCA Kicks Off Cruise Shipping Miami by Mixing Platinum Members, Cruise Executives and Networking Opportunities

Over 200 gathered yesterday at Porfirio’s Restaurante in Miami Beach to kick off the week of Cruise Shipping Miami (CSM). The event offered the opportunity for FCCA Platinum Members and guests to prepare for the week ahead by discussing plans and trends with FCCA Member Line executives who decide where ships call, what sells onboard and how to invest in infrastructure.

“FCCA’s opening event for Cruise Shipping Miami is a vital part of this busy week,” told Micky Arison, chairman of Carnival Corporation and the FCCA, who was on-hand at the event. “Time becomes extremely limited throughout Cruise Shipping, and this opening event makes it possible to meet with some of the industry’s most important stakeholders and coordinate for the upcoming week.”

“Our Cruise Shipping opening event facilitated networking between our members and executives,” told Michele M. Paige, president of FCCA. “This is a feature of all our events, but increasingly important during a week offering ample opportunities to take on new business, but limited availability of time and contacts. The FCCA ensures members the access to these contacts and resources.”

This event was the first of many hosted by the FCCA during CSM that help members and attendees to maximize their chances to target cruise line executives, presidents and CEOs.

The week will also feature receptions and meetings at FCCA’s CSM booth (#695) throughout the event; FCCA’s 21st annual Gala, which will take place on Wednesday at the Miami Beach Convention Center and allow over 400 attendees to sit down for dinner and discussions with an executive of their choice, as well as interact with the numerous other executives, presidents and CEOs at a 90-minute cocktail reception and art auction; and a private closing event to let FCCA members and executives wrap up conversations and finalize deals.

Sponsorship by Mexico Tourism Board and Puerto Costa Maya made the opening event possible. PPI Group, FCCA’s media sponsor, also attended, captured footage and interviewed executives and attendees as part of their recapping of FCCA events during CSM.
