Fifteen Melco Employees Graduate with Bachelor Degrees from In-House Program

Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited (Nasdaq: MLCO) today celebrated a life-transforming moment for colleagues graduating from various academic programs at the Whole Person Development Event held at City of Dreams, its flagship integrated resort.

The occasion marked 100 Melco colleagues graduating from various Melco-sponsored programs; including with bachelor’s degrees, from diploma programs in hospitality and gaming management, the Back to School General Education Program, and being awarded Melco scholarships which are available to both employees and their immediate family members. A total of 15 local employees graduated from the in-house driven bachelor’s degree program in partnership with Edinburg Napier University.

The celebration was officiated by Dr. Alexis Tam Chon Weng, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Ms. Xu Ting, Director-General of Cultural and Educational Department, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau SAR; ; Mr. Lau Pun Lap, Director, Policy Research Office of the Macau SAR Government; Mr. Paulo Chan, Director of Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau; Mr. Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of Macau Government Tourist Office; Mr. Chang Kun Hong, Deputy Director, Tertiary Education Services Office; Mr. Kong Ngai, Head of Department of Education, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Professor Andrea Nolan, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Edinburgh Napier University, Ms. Tina Diamantina Coimbra, Director of Tourism and Hotel School, Institute for Tourism Studies; Professor Glenn McCartney, Associate Dean of FBA, University of Macau; Ms. Cheang Mio Han, Hester, Board of Management – Secretary-General, Macao Polytechnic Institute; Mr. Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO, Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Ms. Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility, Melco Resorts & Entertainment.

Mr. Lawrence Ho said, “We are extremely proud of our colleagues, who have demonstrated perseverance and determination to successfully attain personal and professional goals. We are committed to Whole Person Development, and ultimately, strengthening each individual in the community makes for a stronger community.”

Dr. Alexis Tam Chon Weng commented, “The Macau SAR government remains committed to fostering local talents to contribute to a brighter future of Macau. We are thrilled that Melco continues to develop and promote lifelong learning initiatives among its colleagues to contribute to the development of local talent in Macau. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the graduates for their hard work and persistence, as we look forward to more success stories as part of Melco’s ongoing efforts in education through working closely with the Government.”

One of today’s Bachelor of Arts in International Business Practice graduates, Ms. Cathy Chan, Operations Manager at Table Games, commented: “It has been a longstanding dream of mine to attain a bachelor’s degree; a dream which, at one point, seemed impossible to achieve in light of my work schedule and family commitments. My sincerest thanks go to my supervisors for their continuous support during my degree studies in pursuit of professional development, and hope that this sets a positive example for my son to persevere and always reach for his maximum potential. I am grateful to Melco for this invaluable and life transforming opportunity.”
