Operating twice a week on its flagship A330 aircraft, the new direct service from Nadi offers Australian holidaymakers and business travellers a new way to fly to the popular US city and surrounds.
With just one stopover at Nadi Airport to and from Australia, travellers now also have the option to extend their trip and stay-over for a few days in beautiful Fiji, either post or pre their US trip. With Fiji around four hours away from the Eastern seaboard, it is expected to prove popular for those that want to mix a business trip with leisure time.
“We’re delighted to launch our third U.S. service, with Fiji Airways now flying to San Francisco, as well as L.A. and Honolulu. As we continue to expand the network and grow the airline, the new route further extends our reach in North America, as San Francisco also allows onward connections to most U.S. and Canadian cities,” said Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways.
As well as experiencing the famous friendly Fijian hospitality on-board the A330, passengers have the benefit of an all-inclusive service including check-in luggage allowance, in-flight entertainment, and an array of food and drink options onboard. Extra legroom seats and pre-paid excess baggage are also available for purchase.
In line with U.S. vacation periods, the new service will be seasonal, operating from June to August and in December and January.
“The new route is also expected to help drive increased visitation to Fiji from the United States,” added Mr Vijoen.
Fiji Airways flies to Nadi twice daily from Sydney, daily from Brisbane, and from Melbourne five times a week.
The direct service from Nadi to San Francisco operates on Thursdays and Sundays.
To celebrate the new route, Fiji Airways is offering special deals from Australia to Nadi, Fiji starting at AUD$244* one way and Australia to San Francisco via Fiji starting at AUD$999** return.
