It is not often you bump into a scary warrior, but maybe in Fiji it happens more often, and not only that I discovered that in Fiji that Gecko was more than small lizard!
When did all this happen?
Well, when I was on Gecko’s stand at Fijian Tourism Expo I discovered one of the leading small resorts on the Coral Coast – Gecko’s – not a lizard – and I not only met Elizabeth from the resort, but also Gecko’s resident warrior, a rather scary gentleman called Richard!
Gecko’s is set on a four and a half acre historic village site on the beautiful Coral Coast of Fiji, ten minutes from Sigatoka and forty minutes from Nadi plus it is also close to many of the popular resorts on the Coral Coast, with the Shangri-la Fijian only 500 meters away.
Guests can relax in one of the many quiet spaces that Gecko’s Resort four and a half acres allows for and with only 28 rooms it is easy to be “far from the maddening crowd” with Elizabeth telling me that is what a holiday in Fiji at Gecko’s Resort is all about.
Guest can enjoy a relaxing massage, a cocktail by the pool or play pentanque, all without the queues and for something a little more adventurous, there’s volleyball, horse trekking, or how about a bike ride to one of the villages, plus in the evening the “pace” picks up, with Gecko’s Restaurant well known on the Coral Coast for its great food and Polynesian dance and fire shows.
