With Fiji Fashion week kicking off this week, Fijian Tourism Expo [FTE] will provide a special tourism platform to local fashion designers to market their labels next month with Fiji Fashion Week [FJFW] joining Tourism Fiji as a partner for the Fiji Tourism Expo, taking place in Denarau in Jun – andwww.eglobaltravelmedia.com.au will be there, reporting in articles and videos not only from and the fun and of course serious business at FTE but also from all over Fiji!
FJFW managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said, “The Fijian Tourism Expo is the biggest event offering access to major stakeholders in Fiji’s tourism industry.”
“We’re excited to be involved with FTE because it’s giving FJFW the opportunity to showcase locally designed and made labels to give these designers the opportunity to network and more importantly market their label to internal and external markets,”
FTE 2015 is expected to play a vital role in connecting local Fijian designers with the tourism industry stakeholders that could eventually Fijian designed and made garments being readily accessible to the 600,000 plus international visitors that visit Fiji every year.
FJFW, which is in its eighth year of production, starts this week, 25 May at Damodar City in Suva and is held over five over days with a range of activities targeted to promote the fashion industry in Fiji.
Tourism Fiji’s director of events Sally Cooper said, “The Fijian Tourism Expo is all about Fiji and the community and this includes Fijian made and Fijian crafted and so the opportunity to partner with FJFW featuring Fijian designers is important for the event.”
“Ideally we would like to see locally made Fijian products in all resort boutiques and this is an opportunity to show case what can be produced here, not only to our international visitors but also local industry”.
