Fiji’s Tourism Minister Goes For A Sustainable Future For All – New Broom To Sweep Clean? Meet Minister Faiyaz Koya
Recently appointed Fiji Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya appears to have the future of tourism in Fiji well under control, at least from a government perspective.
Appointing Truman Bradley as Executive Chair and Acting CEO of Tourism Fiji, is seen as very positive, but it will be interesting to see over the coming months if Minister Koya’s work in communicating his strategies to a very well established and some might say, entrenched trade in Fiji, will meet with the desired positive response and success that the strategies Minister Koya spoke to me about deserve.
Sustainability, not only in terms of the environment, but also in everything sustainability embraces appear to be very high on his agenda with in particular the Minister making it clear that he wants to see visitors to Fiji realising and appreciating they are visiting a very special and pristine place, both environmentally and culturally, with a clear passion by the Minister in ensuring that visitors to Fiji discover and experience the real Fiji.
I met with Minister Koya at Fijian Tourism Expo recently and asked him about his strategy and to see and hear what he had to say, please click on the video box below.
