Final Date Of SVF VIII/2013

The final day of the Sanur Village Festival VIII/2013, Saturday 28/9 showed a cultural parade involving more than 1,000 people and launching of Clean Bali Program (Gerakan Bali Bersih) 2013 by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu.

Chairman of Yayasan Pembangunan Sanur, Ida Bagus Sidharta Putra, commented that this activity is part of the effort to improve destination quality in terms of clean environment, beautiful and sustainable.

“This program is launched in Sanur and will be extended to the entire area of Bali,” claims Sidharta, Friday (27/9/2013).

According to Gusde, this activity is linked to Sanur’s appointment as a National Tourism Strategic Region together with four other regions i.e. Wakatobi (South East Sulawesi), Komodo Island (Nusa tenggara Timur), Tana Toraja (South Sulawesi Selatan), and Bromo-Tengger (East Java) more than a year ago.

The activity focused in Segara Ayu, Sanur started off with distributing soursop seedlings to students followed by planting in various areas. To introduce clean environment concept to students, they had a drawing and painting competition.

Another activity was the waste recycle and management, to produce value added. “Another environmental program is the turtle release, coral reef conservation effort, and beach cleaning,” says Gusde.

After launching the Clean Bali Program 2013, the Minister joined the Sanur village cycling tour together with other tourists open daily during the festival.

The afternoon saw to a cultural parade involving the banjar, schools in Sanur and tourism destination Taman Nusa. Other festival activities such as performance on stage ran until midnight. The last night shows included fashion show by Dinda Rella, dance choreographed by Wayan Sidia, performances by Jim Larkin, Shooting Stars Modern Dance, Joni Agung & Double T, Jamz Rock with Crazy Horse and star singer Katon Bagaskara.

Other activities during closing of the Festival among them were fishing competition at early morning located at Selat Badung’s beach, until afternoon. Also Paint Ball, shooting arena was open until late and Chopper style vehicle was open at the Kampung Chopper within the festival area.

Yoga fans joined Pasemetonan Yoga Asana Seger Oger activity aimed to improve physique and health. Visitors could also still enjoy various dishes at food bazar and creative products available at the Sanur Expo, with great discounts offered later at the night.
