First Ever All Night Tube Services To Run In London- Let Your Visitors Enjoy Nightlife With The Visitor Oyster Card
From the early hours of Saturday 12 September 2015, Londoners and visitors to the Capital will be able to travel on the Jubilee, Victoria and most of the Piccadilly, Central and Northern Tube lines all night on Fridays and Saturdays.
The service will open up London’s night-time economy to a whole host of new opportunities, supporting and help maintaining London’s status as a vibrant and exciting place to live, work and visit.
Mike Brown MVO, the Managing Director of London Underground, said: “ the introduction of the Night Tube, which will cut journey times and open up new possibilities across the night time economy, is a historic step in our modernisation of the Underground; the new service will boost jobs and will benefit the economy by hundreds of millions of pounds. “
Visitors can enjoy the Night Tube services and all that London has to offer by getting hold of a Visitor Oyster card before they arrive in the capital, saving time and money on their travel.
The Visitor Oyster card is a cheap way to pay for single journeys on Tube, bus, tram, DLR, London Overground and most National Rail services in London so represents great value when compared to Day Travelcards and single tickets too.
Transport for London (TfL) is in partnership with VisitBritain for the promotion and distribution of the Visitor Oyster Card internationally on a ‘buy before you fly’ basis encouraging visitors to London to pre-purchase their travel tickets before they leave home. This is continuing to represent a great success, with an average of 43,000 cards sold globally every month.
Travel trade businesses can bulk buy the Visitor Oyster card on a discounted basis earning commission in the process, making it an attractive proposition to businesses bringing visitor to London.
Julie Dixon, Head of Marketing Services at TfL, said: “Oyster offers our customers a cheaper, faster and more efficient way of paying for travel across London’s transport services. With VisitBritain’s network of world-wide trade partners and contacts they are able to help us promote the Visitor Oyster card to businesses bringing thousands of visitors to the capital each year, improving visitors’ experience of travel around London and enabling them to get the most out of everything London has to offer.”
Jaco Coetzee, Head of Commercial and Trade at VisitBritain said: “By joining with us in this partnership, TfL have been able to use our extensive overseas network and retail operation to reach the millions of international travellers coming to the UK. Visitor Oyster cards are the must have pass for travelling on London’s vast transport network, putting all of London’s wonderful attractions within easy reach.”
