On 26th August, one of Australia’s wildest and most gruelling boat race will go up in lights, as Up the Creek – The Story of Red Bull Dinghy Derby launches exclusively on Red Bull TV. Combining the high-octane action of possibly the most Australian race in existence, with a behind the scenes look at this iconic event, Up the Creek shows just what it takes to become a Red Bull Dinghy Derby hero.
Today’s trailer release gives viewers a glimpse into the action-packed documentary that uncovers a subculture like no other. Red Bull Dinghy Derby sees some of the best dinghy drivers from across the country hit the water at incredible speeds of up to 90km/h – all in the name of race glory and of course, bragging rights.
The annual event sees competitors manoeuvre souped-up dinghies through a 90km+ course along the Murray River. This is not an easy feat, with narrow creeks, logs, tree stumps and other high-speed boats posing a challenge, keeping the 60 boats and 120 competitors hot on their toes for the duration of the race.
This unique story also profiles the daredevil competitors and showcases the lengths these unlikely sports stars go to in an attempt to win the coveted title.
The world premiere of Up the Creek – The Story of Red Bull Dinghy Derby will be available from 26th August on video streaming service Red Bull TV, which can be accessed anytime anywhere online at Redbull.TV, as an app, or via Smart TV. Red Bull TV is available FREE on iOS, Android and at redbull.tv.
