Fit for a King: Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort Offers a Bespoke Gentleman’s High Tea This Father’s Day

Progressive and deliciously different, high tea has been turned on its head this Father’s Day, Sunday 3 September, as Verandah Restaurant & Bar offers a special Gentleman’s High Tea. Conceptualised by Executive Chef Matt Hart, the Gentleman’s High Tea has been tailor-made with the gents in mind, delivering a decadent (yet manly!) experience for dad and the family.

Designed to follow the traditional three-tiered stand ritual, the Gentleman’s High Tea journey begins with s’mores in a jar featuring gooey marshmallow, whisky ganache and short bread. Scones and finger sandwiches are swapped on the second tier for gourmet lamb sliders with charcoal brioche, fetta and baby spinach, alongside sweet potato fries with jalapeño aioli. The third tier presents a burst of Asian influence with Malaysian chicken drumettes with sweet chilli and wild mushroom arancini, shaved pecorino, truffle oil and snow pea tendrils.

While tea is optional, no gentleman’s high tea would be complete without a beer to celebrate. The Gentleman’s High Tea includes one craft beer of choice on tap for guests over 18 years, with the Verandah Restaurant & Bar’s iconic whisky flights available for purchase.
