Hyatt is pleased to announce that five of its hotels have been chosen by DestinAsian readers as ‘Best Hotels’ in the ninth annual DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards.

For the second year running, Hyatt attained the most best-hotel titles of any hotel brand and almost a quarter of all such titles bestowed.

Three Park Hyatt hotels: Park Hyatt Tokyo; Park Hyatt Sydney; and Park Hyatt Saigon, and two Grand Hyatt hotels: Grand Hyatt Seoul; and Grand Hyatt Jakarta, were all awarded the coveted title of ‘Best Hotel’ in their respective cities. Park Hyatt is Hyatt’s luxury brand, offering sophisticated, mid-sized properties in premier destinations, while Grand Hyatt hotels are larger-scale hotels providing dramatic and exciting accommodation and experiences in major cities.

The DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards recognises hotel brands that ‘provide consistent and unsurpassed standards in excellence and service’. Conducted from August to October 2013, with a total of 3,900 respondents, readers were asked to select winning establishments based on their personal experiences with hotels that satisfied their needs in terms of luxury, service, style and comfort. An award ceremony will take place in Singapore on February 19 and the full results will appear in the February/March 2014 print issue of the magazine.

DestinAsian readers consider Park Hyatt Tokyo ‘über-premium’ and the city’s ‘most exclusive hotel’, while Park Hyatt Saigon feels ‘more like a private residence than a hotel’ and the ‘helpful staff go the extra mile’. Park Hyatt Sydney, they say, ‘capitalises beautifully on Sydney’s main asset, the harbour’. Grand Hyatt Seoul has been awarded first place for its ‘great views and excellent service’ in the heart of the South Korean capital and readers feel Grand Hyatt Jakarta is ‘still top-notch after more than 20 years’.

“When it comes to travel, everyone is spoiled for choice and has an array options to choose from,” says DestinAsian publisher Ronald Liem. “The primary reasons why our readers have consistently embraced these brands have remained consistent throughout over the years. It’s always about elegance, service, and luxury.”

“We are grateful to have achieved the most best-hotel titles in the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards for the second year,” says Carina Chorengel, vice president of brands for Asia Pacific at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “Some truly superlative hotels were nominated, so to achieve so many awards is an immense honour and all the more humbling. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the DestinAsian readers for their recognition and congratulate the five Hyatt teams for their unremitting dedication and hard work.”
