In an attempt to find true love, contestants on The Bachelor are whisked away to sandy white beaches, luxe villas, private castles and sophisticated cities – how could there not be sparks?

For those of us tuning in to watch the latest Bachie and dreaming of our own romantic getaway, has compiled a guide of the top romantic spots from previous seasons as well as predictions for season four’s final destination.

In the very first Australian series we saw blonde beauty, Anna Heinrich, handed a promise ring by Tim Robards after an emotion-filled finale in Phuket, Thailand. From a cruise around Phang Nga Bay to a fire twirling show, Thailand offers beautiful scenery, fascinating culture and non-stop sites for couples to discover. On the southern tip of Railay, at Phra Nang Beach, check out Princess Cave. Packed with tributes, garlands and other offerings to a fertility goddess, it’s predicted a visit will bring you potency and prosperity – essential to any date.

South Africa

Season two Bachelor, Blake Garvey, jetted his ladies to South Africa to enjoy spectacular safaris, beautiful picnics and romantic overnight dates in luxury accommodations. Looking for a regal way to court your potential lifepartner? Book a night in the Flycatcher Castle – it is close to scenic wonders such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the world renowned Blyde River Canyon. And if you’re feeling wild, The Kruger National Park is less than an hour’s drive away.

Sam Wood won the hearts of the nation and Snezana Markoski as season three’s Bachie. While not everyone can negotiate a private ballet performance or a ride in a Lamborghini, with the help of Sydney’s beautiful skyline you can certainly get your loved one swooning. What better way to end the day than watching the sun fade over the horizon of stunning Sydney Harbour? Pack some nibbles and a bottle of bubbly to complete the striking experience.

Paris may be the go-to European city for romance, but Venice is guaranteed to provide a loved-up break to remember. With the most artistic masterpieces per square kilometre, this dreamy city could offer season four’s Richie and his final ladies a relaxing opportunity to explore history, architecture and high culture. All set amongst picturesque canals – there’s no better backdrop to fall head over heels.

Seychelles The Seychelles offers couples a peaceful retreat that will make you feel like your holidaying in a brochure. With a diverse landscape, cultural attractions and a vibrant nightlife, it is the perfect location for young couples to celebrate romance and we’re sure to see an equal dose of love, laughter and drama if this is where Richie takes his top picks.
