Flagship hotel on French Riviera promotes healthy environment

In line with Hyatt`s global responsibility platform, `Hyatt Thrive`, this flagship hotel is dedicated to promote a healthy and vibrant natural environment. All efforts recently earned Green Globe re-certification.

“The renewal of our prestigious certification is a wonderful reward for our extra efforts made last year,” said Florence Gardrat, Quality and Environment Manager at the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez. “We recognize that environmental sustainability is a journey and not a short-term endeavor. Achieving measurable results requires a conscious effort and a healthy mix of focus, innovation, commitment and optimism. The Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez has set aggressive, measurable goals to reduce energy and water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste sent to landfills. All progress is monitored via Hyatt Eco-Track, and the information enables the hotel to identify new opportunities for improvement. The in-house Green Team is a positive catalyst for change at the hotel and the local community. Sustainable materials can be found throughout the property, and a responsible purchasing policy is part of the business strategy.

“Our work includes both, the promotion of local food and culture to our international guests, as well as the provision of our extensive facilities and services to charitable organizations. We like to support local projects, focusing on assisting children with special needs. On a regular basis, we organize fund raisers, such as `toy drives` or bakery sales, to benefit these kids. We also invite the children for training sessions in different departments at our hotel, or to events we are hosting, especially during the Holiday Season,” commented Florence Gardrat.
