Food, Funky Tunes and Freebies @ Finns Recreation Club

May 10, 2017 Resort News No Comments Email Email

Identity crisis? I doubt it! The Canggu Club might be getting a new name but it definitely retains its banner as Bali’s premier sports and entertainment venue. From June 1st, The Canggu Club will be known as Finns Recreation Club. To celebrate their new moniker they’re throwing a bit of a shindig on Friday June 2nd from 3pm ’til late and everybody is welcome!

Finns Recreation Club is opening the doors to the general public from 3pm until 10pm and it’s free entry for everyone to come and have a bit of fun at their inaugural Music & Food Festival. Promising to be the first of many, the evening will be a celebration of everything tempting and tasty. With a focus on food, fun times, cool tunes and even some free stuff!

If you are like me and love your tucker, Fridays (every day for that matter..) are all about food and fizzy stuff and there will be an abundance of gastro delights with live cooking stations dishing up delicious street style fare the likes of Asian noodles, fresh pasta, Finns famous burgers, French style baguettes and many more to tantalise your buds. The Smoke House Restaurant will be open for business and you’ll be following your nose and that divine aroma of something succulent and smoky to where Smoke House staff are at in order to get your hands on some of their tasty free tidbits!

The Sports Bar will be open as usual with Friday night’s football fixture telecast live but if you’d prefer to stay where the action, music and entertainment is outside, you can also whet your whistle at the many beverage huts set up around the club lawn. Keep a tropical mood with fresh coconuts and a Finns signature cocktail or celebrate with a glass of cider, wine or champas. Now if Canggu Club members might be feeling a little maudlin about the change of name, a voucher entitling them to three free drinks for the evening is enough to make any melancholic mood fade away into their Frozen Margarita!

The evening is an all ages affair and Finns Recreation Club has definitely kept the kids in mind with a swag of activities to keep them active, happy and out of your hair. Akin to a carnival, your young family members are going to be stoked to discover jumping castles, farm yard animals, pony rides, balloon art, face painting and everyone, (Club member or not) is welcome to ride the slides at Splash Water Park free of charge from 3pm.

There will be a variety of family friendly performances; a dance recital and special appearance from the island’s youngest DJ, Little Ale. At just seven years of age, Bali’s very own miniature music sensation has already achieved acclaim as a diva on the decks! With a love for electronic music that stemmed from following her DJ dad to various gigs, Little Ale has developed her own distinct musical style and is hard at work in the studio to complete her first record with label, Bali Praia.

As the sun gives way to starlight and Finns Recreation Club lawn transforms into a scene of lantern lit tents and street style ambience, settle down into bean bags and deck chairs. Enjoy a meal, music and browse the market stalls should you feel inclined for a bit of retail therapy. Finns Recreation Club is making these music, market and food Fridays a monthly affair and vendors are invited to contact the team at Club reception should they be interested in holding a stall at what is likely to become a regular gig!

Get your crew together for a Friday evening out that the whole family can be a part of and we’ll see you at Finns Recreation Club for June 2nd.
