Food is a great comfort to many people and a genuine reflection of culture and the way of living.
Taiwan has a solid reputation as a food culture. The Taipei International Food Show (known as FOOD TAIPEI) takes place every summer and brings together gourmets and cuisines from the world over and serves as a platform to monitor trends of the food industry.
The 2015 Food Taipei was held at the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1 and Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 from June 24-27. Building on last year’s success, the 2015 show broke previous records as all booths quickly sold out shortly after the application process began.
Food Taipei, after 25 years, has built a superior international reputation and attracts food company exhibitors from both home and abroad. This year, over 30 international exhibitors participated, demonstrating that great food can shorten the distance between countries and bridge geographic boundaries and time zones. Needless to say, the show featured cuisines from all over Taiwan, such as confections, biscuits, cookies, and pastries, each delicately packed and flavored to amaze the senses. In addition, the Taiwan Frozen Seafood Industries Association encouraged numerous companies to exhibit in the form of joint booths to showcase multiple high-quality seafood items. To meet healthy diet trends, a special vegetarian and organic food section was organized in the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1.
Aside from Food Taipei, other activities included Product Presentations, National Pavilion Day, and Live Cooking Shows to attract more people as well as media attention, in addition to introducing the products to professional buyers and visitors. One-on-one procurement meetings were also coordinated to match buyers with food product producers and assist with business opportunities.
