Vibrant wining and dining experiences are combined with Shangri-La’s legendary hospitality and served to a backdrop of unparalleled views of the capital and beyond.

TĪNG restaurant: Overseen by executive chef Emil Minev, TĪNG presents a modern European menu using the best of British, locally-sourced ingredients with subtle Asian influences. Signature dishes include Welsh Lamb from the Rhug Estate – glazed with mirin, sake and soy sauce and served with root vegetables and Kentish apples; and Hand-Dived Scallops – cooked a la plancha with carrot, ginger and a light yuzu and grape seed olive oil.

The terroir-driven wine list has been created by head sommelier, Anne Lomas, to perfectly match the menu and features a variety of both familiar and lesser-known grapes, with a wide selection of entry-level wines by the glass, mid-range bottles and high-end vintages. TĪNG restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

TING - Shangri-La Hotel At The Shard LondonTĪNG lounge: The adjacent lounge offers a distinctive à la carte menu of authentic Asian specialties, many from the heart of Penang – the home of Shangri-La’s Asian speciality chef Cheah Keong – in a tranquil and serene setting. Dishes such as Curry Laksa, Hainanese Chicken Rice and Nasi Goreng Kampung are served throughout the day and for those seeking more familiar ground, a selection of ‘comfort foods’ such as the Tīng Burger, Club Sandwich or Cornish Crab On Toast are also available.

London’s highest afternoon tea is served in theatrical elegance and guests can choose between classically English or an Asian-inspired alternative. The lounge also has one of London’s largest tea collections, ranging from teas such as Darjeeling First Flush to more rare blends such as Formosa Oolong and White Tea Needles.

GŎNG: Designed by renowned interior designer, Andre Fu, London’s highest destination bar takes its name from ‘dougong’ – an ancient Chinese structural element of interlocking wooden brackets, used to support historical Chinese temples and palaces, and a strong component of the bar’s intriguing interior. Cinnabar red lacquer panels, mauve bespoke carpets and a wall of antique bronze cabinets create contrasting Chinese-style textures, whilst a series of intimate chambers – created to work with the unique architecture of The Shard – take guests on a mythical journey through the bar. An unrivalled setting for sundowners and late-night drinks, GŎNG features a stunning champagne bar and cocktail bar, as well as, a dramatic infinity skypool, which will open for the summer. In keeping with the hotel’s emphasis on local produce, many of the bar’s spirits are sourced from top quality London-based distilleries. Head bartender, Henning Neufeld has crafted a seasonally inspired cocktail list which includes signatures such as ‘The Big Smoke’ – Dodd’s gin, Grand Marnier, Tio Pepe, Mancino Rosso Amaranto and orange bitters; ‘Black and Blue Swizzle’ – Talisker, honey, lime, PX sherry and blue cheese; and ‘Bermondsey Bubbles’ – Jensen’s dry Bermondsey gin alongside rose liqueur, creole bitters and champagne and finished with a sugar shard. A wide selection of champagne is available by the glass, from rare small grower varieties to the ultimate Grandes Marques, and is served alongside a menu of Colchester oysters, fresh lobster and rustic charcuterie boards.

Located on the ground floor, LÁNG is the hotel’s patisserie and artisan deli showcasing a selection of Shangri-La signature cakes alongside savouries such as soups, salads, sandwiches and seasonal hampers, with an option to eat-in or take-away. The hotel’s pastry team prepare the finest patisserie daily with signatures that include Chocolate Temptation – a rich chocolate sponge, red fruit tea-infused Ghanaian chocolate ganache and raspberry compote topped with a soft chocolate cream; and Yuzu Cheesecake – layers of cheesecake, yuzu sponge, salted biscuit, orange and yuzu compote. Diners are invited to relax with one of the bespoke tea blends such as the Shangri-La Breakfast Tea – a robust blend of Assam, Sumatran and Yunnan – and a number of carefully selected wines and champagnes.
