The 2017 Sydney China Business Forum presented by the University of Sydney’s China Studies Centre will explore how Australian and Chinese companies can capitalise on China’s digital revolution.

China is dramatically transforming its economy through technology and digitisation. As a share of GDP, China’s internet economy now exceeds those of the United States, France, and Germany. When China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba was floated on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014, it was the largest IPO in history. In July this year, the Chinese Government laid out plans to become the world leader in artificial intelligence by 2030 and build an industry worth US$150 billion.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Bruce Ren – Chief Strategy Officer for UBTech, China’s largest consumer humanoid robotics company. (Includes a UBTech robots demonstration)
  • Adrian Turner – CEO of Data61, a CSIRO entity and the largest data innovation group in Australia.
  • Liu Feng, General Manager, Smart City product line ZTE Corporation, a Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company.
  • Justin Gong, Co-Founder of XAircraft, one of the world’s largest drone companies.
  • Nicolas Chu – CEO of Sinorbis, an international company that has revolutionised the way western organisations do digital marketing in China through cloud-based software.
  • Leading representatives from Chinese and Australian companies working in the digital economy.

The 2017 Sydney China Business Forum is proudly supported by the City of Sydney, PwC, China Construction Bank, Reginsun Group and the University of Sydney’s Confucius Institute.
