Many visitors to Four Seasons Hotel Baku have commented that while the building is new, it feels like it has been in place for ages, noting that Four Seasons has already become an inseparable part of the city.
This warm feeling continues inside with a display of beautifully clothed and friendly faced dolls created by famous Azerbaijani artist Elmira Abbasly. Each one of her dolls plays a different role in her life, and by creating them, she puts a piece of her soul and love into these creatures, seen in the tiny details, the facial expressions and hand gestures, and their colours.
Many are based on characters remembered from Elmira’s childhood growing up near where Four Seasons now stands – in the narrow, winding streets of Icheri Shekher, the Old City.
“Although she has never studied art formally, Elmira is an amazingly talented and unique artist, and Four SeasonsHotel Baku is more than honoured to share her incredible dolls within the walls of our Hotel,” says Director of Public Relations Aynur Mamedova.
