CAF_226_aspect4x5Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence is lending its support to Egyptian art scene. Over the past few years, the Hotel has taken a lead in supporting the burgeoning art scene in Cairo through the hosting of several successful rotating art exhibitions and receptions.

Pass by the Hotel’s Tea Lounge to view a selection of beautiful bronze sculptures; the art collection includes striking pieces from Ahmed Abdel-Tawab, Iraqi-born Anas El-Aloussi and Ayman Saadawy, and Mohamed EL Fayoumi. Egyptian artist Emad Ibrahim draws his inspiration from local musicians and people in traditional landscapes; Egyptian artist Ayman El Samery also uses similar concepts depicting scenes from the Egyptian countryside stemming from his passion for nature.

Included in this collection is renowned artist George Fikry, up-and-coming artist Adel Tharwat, and Wael Abdel Sabour, whose works  are located on the 4th floor adjacent to the Hotel’s Aura restaurant.

With many young and emerging artists, the art exhibition aims to not only enrich the lives of guests but also the burgeoning Cairo art scene by transforming the Hotel into a “live gallery” and a hub for social and cultural exchange.

“We are extremely excited about this new collection,” says Mahmoud ElKeiy, General Manager of the 269-roomFour Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence. “Our aim is to enrich the guest experience in the Hotel, and we are also able to provide a platform for some of Egypt’s established and emerging young artists to exhibit their work.”

Echoing the global trend, Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence is using this exhibition as an opportunity to pay homage to Egyptian culture by taking on an important role in promoting the country’s distinguished and emerging artists, not only to the local, but among regional and international art scenes as well.

The current collection has been put together in close cooperation with The Zamalek Art Gallery, a leading local and regional cultural operator dedicated to promoting contemporary Egyptian art internationally. All artwork displayed in the collection is for sale.
