Francophiles invited to celebrate Bastille Day with Sofitel

As ambassadors of modern French style, culture and art-de-vivre, Accor’s Sofitel branded hotels and resorts right here in Australia are set to bringBastille Day to life on July 14, 2019. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort invite all Francophiles to celebrate the French National Day ‘La Fête Nationale,’ and indulge in range of truly magnifique experiences.

French heritage icon Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, will be collaborating for the first time with the culinary Bastille Festival Sydney with a focus on French food, wine and art, just a short walk from the hotel, at Circular Quay and The Rocks in Sydney from 11 -14 July, 2019. Bastille Festival Sydney guests are invited to extend their cultural and culinary experience and stay in one of the hotel’s revitalised guestrooms with the exclusive ‘Savour The French Way’ accommodation package. Guests who book  the ‘Savour the French Way’ accommodation package on 12 or 13  July will receive a complimentary double pass for the Le Mulled Wine cinema experience as part of the Bastille Festival. ‘Savour The French Way’ accommodation packages start from $337 per night including one night in a Classic Room, buffet breakfast for two, and late check out at 12pm.

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth are also offering a selection of French inspired culinary delights at Soiree Bar for the duration of Bastille weekend, including cheese & charcuterie, paired with a French inspired Australian wine flight from $40 per person and French Cheese fondue priced from $25 per person.

Launching on Bastille Day weekend, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour will be offering a decadent high tea experience, inspired by Australian fashion illustrator Megan Hess’ acclaimed children’s book character, Claris, the Chicest Mouse in Paris. The Claris the Mouse High Tea experience will continue every Saturday afternoon from 1-4pm until October, held at the hotel’s elegant Champagne Bar, which will be transformed into a wonderful world of teacups, cupcakes, choux and macarons.

The Claris the Mouse High Tea experience is priced at $69 per person ($35 for children aged 11 and under) and includes free-flowing tea and coffee, pink lemonade for younger guests, a selection of savoury and sweet treats, and a chocolate fountain. Every young guest who comes to the High Tea will leave with a Claris the Mouse gift bag. This event is not just for children but for all those who appreciate a delicious and delicate French inspired gourmet experience, washed down by cups of tea or the finest bubbles from the Champagne Bar’s extensive selection. Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort will transport guests to a sophisticated Parisian Bistrot, offering their infamous Champagne three-course lunch on Bastille Day, including petit fours and Moet for $99 per person or Veuve Cliquot for $129 per person.

The resort will be lit up in French national colours and will feature an Eiffel tower projection in the lobby along with the National French Flower of France, Iris, featured in flower arrangements across the resort, signifying perfection, light and life.  French film, ‘La Vie en Rose’, will be projected on the roof of the bar and also on television screens across the resort while guests enjoy the Moet cocktail ‘Imperial’. Guests can also view the film at Water’s Edge Pool Bar whilst enjoying the classic St. Tropez cocktail.
