Fraser Island Fares Well After the Storm

April 5, 2017 Resort News No Comments Email Email

The stormy weather that hit the Coast last week has brought hidden blessings to Fraser Island before the school holiday rush.

After 6 months without much rain, the storm has replenished the native wallum around the resort and the waterways are full of new life.

According to Group General Manager, David Hay, “This much-needed rainfall has hardened the sand roads on Fraser Island, making driving conditions much easier and safer than they were just a matter of days ago.”

The walking tracks that had been closed for some time due to fire danger should be re-opened soon and able to be enjoyed in their entirety by visitors to the island.

Whilst many Queensland properties suffered at the mercy of Mother Nature, both Kingfisher Bay and Eurong Beach Resorts experienced no damage – thanks to the swift actions of the teams onsite – and boatloads of new guests arrived on Friday under a sky full of sunshine.

Both resorts Resort are ready for an influx of visitors over the Easter school holiday break, with the weather forecast set for blue skies and endless days of outdoor adventures.

Families considering a holiday on the Fraser Coast shouldn’t be deterred by recent weather events, as Fraser Island is unaffected by the conditions happening in other areas. All resort activities and tours are operating as normal, and guests can expect a fun, safe, and visually spectacular experience in the great outdoors.

Kingfisher Bay Resort has launched a ‘Stay 5 Pay 4’ special offer for family villas, starting from $188 per night over the school holiday period, which is the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a long break away and enjoy everything Fraser Island has to offer.
