French Bossa Nova band Nouvelle Vague will perform live at Le Méridien Noumea in New Caledonia on Sunday 4 October, 2015. The performance marks the official launch of Le Méridien Summer Soirees at the resort, a brand wide programme designed to give guests a taste of summertime sophistication at Le Méridien properties worldwide.
LM100™ Member and Le Méridien Hotels official music curator, Nouvelle Vague is a French music collective, headed up by Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. Featuring a rolling cast of popular Parisian musicians, the group’s music consists of bossa nova fashioned covers of New Wave songs; hence the name “Nouvelle Vague”. Some of their most popular covers include songs by Dead Kennedys, Joy Division and The Smiths. Le Méridien partnered with Nouvelle Vague in 2014 to honour the brand’s French heritage and to curate a unique 24-hour playlist of music to enhance the brand’s award-winning Arrival Experience in its signature Hubs worldwide.
Before Nouvelle Vague take to the stage, guests can enjoy a game of pétanque, one of the few regional sports played all over France and now internationally. A complimentary cocktail from Le Méridien Sparkling, Le Méridien’s cocktail programme featuring an array of effervescent aperitifs and spritzers, will add flair to the game. Tickets also include delicious provincial bites and access to the resort swimming pool, which will be open until 10pm.
Together with local guest DJs from Transit and drummer Stéphane Rénier, Nouvelle Vague will set the tone for the evening:
