Frontier Airlines today celebrated its inaugural flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and Austin (AUS) from Chicago with an event at O’Hare International Airport(ORD). The event, held in Terminal 3 at Gate L1, included a cake-cutting, an appearance by a furry “Frontier friend”, a contest announcement and photo opportunity with actor LaRoyce Hawkins from NBC’s police drama “Chicago P.D.”, and remarks by Michael Pewther, Frontier Airlines Senior Director, Sales. Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Acting Commissioner Michael Boland attended the event to welcome Frontier’s newest flights.
“Frontier Airlines’ new routes launched today to Los Angeles and Austin are great news for Chicago, O’Hare International Airport, and our valued travelers,” said Boland. “New service from Chicago O’Hare to a popular destination benefits travelers by providing more choices and adding competition to the market.”
Frontier will operate daily nonstop service from ORD to LAX on an A320 aircraft and daily nonstop seasonal service from ORD to AUS on an A319 aircraft.
