Belgian beer house ‘FRITES’ is thrilled to launch fun and interactive ‘Kids Corners’ in its 4 restaurants in Central, Wanchai, Causeway Bay and Quarry Bay, available every Saturday and Sunday.

The Kids Corner will keep children busy so that parents can enjoy their meals in the convivial atmosphere that the restaurant is renowned for in the knowledge that their children are playing safely just a stone’s throw away.

Games in the Kids Corner will include arts & crafts and cookie making; as well as role playing as customers, cashiers, dish washers and baristas. Kids will be able to choose dishes from a special FRITES Café Kids Menu.

The Kids Menu features smaller versions of the brand’s hearty European fare, including Rich Man’s Burger & Fries, Sausages in Bread, Roast Chicken & Salad, and coffee and desserts. Birthday parties and entertainment can also be arranged, with some venues even having a private area, such as the Abbey Room at FRITES Central.

Viviano Romito, Operations Director and owner, states: “Here at FRITES, we are proud of our European heritage and we are therefore following a European tradition, where it’s normal for children to socialise alongside adults when families go out together. We also wanted to give parents the opportunity to go out and enjoy themselves and gain a bit of peace, but also with their children close-by, having fun and hopefully learning too.”

FRITES is a growing chain of comfortable, casual Belgian beer houses serving delicious, traditional European farepaired with some of the finest Belgian beer that Hong Kong has to offer. The authentic Belgian fries, steamed mussels, succulent pork knuckles, sizzling steaks & sausages and fresh fish & chips has proven to be a winning formula.  This has prompted FRITES to expand from its current four Hong Kong Island locations into 10 more locations in Kowloon and the suburbs. If successful, FRITES will eye expansion in the Asia Pacific region.

Styled after traditional 1920s Belgian beer halls with high ceilings, rustic tables and stain glass windows, FRITES has created the perfect atmosphere for sharing hearty portions of great food, great brews and great conversations with friends.

With an established and loyal customer base, the bars are buzzing during weekday happy hours from 3.00-7.00 p.m., when all draught beers, house wines and spirits are discounted 50 percent.Great-value set lunches are also served through the week, as well as an ’Early Bird’ express menu early in the evenings.
